Stex Fitness Ellipticals

Stex is a South Korean fitness equipment company also known as TAE HA or Taeha Mechatronics Co., Ltd. It was founded in 1995 and describes itself as manufacturing “heavy-duty professional commercial fitness equipment.” Stex elliptical trainers are not well-known among English speaking audiences and we haven’t been able to collect many customer reviews.

One of the most affordable Stex ellipticals is the 8016, which retails for about $2900. Overall the compact Stex 8016 seems comparable to many commercial cross trainers that are widely distributed in North America, thought the stride might be shorter and this elliptical is very light on programming.  There are only two preset workout routines. Highlights include a heavy steel frame, wireless heart rate monitoring and a three-year warranty.

It’s possible that something’s been lost in translation, but for now we don’t see much reason to get excited about the Stex elliptical brand.
